Dictionary of Terms

VTT / TT (from Internal Customs Transit) is a customs procedure in which foreign goods are transported between temporary storage warehouses and customs warehouses on the territory of the Russian Federation without payment of customs duties and taxes. As a rule, VTT is used when transporting goods from their place of arrival (seaport) to the location of the customs authority of destination, for the purpose of their further customs clearance. Transportation of goods in the VTT mode can only be carried out by a customs carrier.

General Act / Gen. The act is a document drawn up by the NCSP port terminal, on the day of the end of unloading containers from the vessel. Date Gen. The act is the first day of container storage in the port of NCSP and the beginning of the demurrage period (for container lines operating in NCSP)

THC (from Terminal Handling Charge) - the fee charged by the container line for Terminal handling (see Terminal Handling). OTHC.

Storage in the port (Storage) - when importing, this is the period when the container is located on the line from the moment the container is unloaded from the ship and until the container is taken out of the port by the cargo owner (or the cargo is taken out of the container). The first day of storage is the date of the opening of the DU (in the NUTEP), BEFORE (in the NLE), or the date of the General Act (in the NCSP). The free demurrage period for dry, non-hazardous, oversized cargo is 7 days.

FREIGHT CONDITIONS:

Prepaid - not paid by the user. Acceptable for use with CFR, CIF, CIP, CPT, DAT, DAP, DDP installations.

Collect - freight is paid by the recipient. In relation to the conditions of FOB, FAS, FCA, EXW

FIFO (from Free In / Free Out) is the freight rate that does not include either the cost of loading onto the vessel or the cost of unloading from the vessel (terminal processing at the ports of loading/unloading).

FILO (from Free In / Liner Out) - the freight rate includes the cost of unloading from the vessel (terminal processing at the port of unloading). I.e. FILO = FIFO + DTHC

LIFO (from insertion of the liner / release of the liner) – loading of the liner includes the possibility of loading for a time (heat treatment during loading). I.e. LIFO = FIFO + OTHC

LILO (from Liner In / Liner Out) - the freight rate includes the cost of both loading onto the vessel and unloading from the vessel (terminal processing at the ports of loading/unloading). I.e. FILO = FIFO + OTHC + DTHC

COMPONENTS OF FREIGHT RATES:

All-In is a bid that includes all of the following allowances.

BAF (Bunker Adjustment Factor) - indexation of fuel price changes.

CAF (Currency Adjustment Factor) - currency exchange rate difference indexing.

Congestion Surcharge is a surcharge that is charged to compensate for the costs associated with the delay of ships in overloaded ports.

EBS (Emergency Bunker Surge) is a temporary surcharge associated with an increase in the price of fuel.

DTHC (from Destination Terminal Handling Charge) - the fee charged by the container line for Terminal handling at the port of discharge (see Terminal Handling).

GRI (General Rate Surge) – the total rate increase applied by the line compared to the previous period.

GAC (Gulf of Aden Surge) – surcharge for transportation along the route along the route that runs through the Gulf of Aden.

HWS (Heavy-Weight Surge) is a surcharge for overweight of cargo over a certain set value (analogous to OWS).

IMO Surcharge is a surcharge for the transportation of dangerous goods.

OTHC (from Origin Terminal Handling Charge) - the fee charged by the container line for Terminal handling at the port of loading (see Terminal Handling).

OWS (Over-Weight Surge) is a surcharge for overweight of cargo over a certain set value (analogous to HWS).

PCS (Panama Channel Recharge) – a fee for the passage of the Panama Canal.

PSS (Peak Season Surge) – seasonal surcharges.SCS (Suez Canal surcharge) – Suez Canal passage fee.

War Risk Surge – is used when a ship enters the ports of countries conducting military operations.

WS (Winter Recharge) – surcharge in winter.
